White Poppy Music for Remembrance Day. You are cordially invited to the launch of a new radical song night in Edinburgh. We will be gathering once a month to listen to singers of radical songs and to share songs, stories and poems with each other. Entry will be free, with raffle and donations collected for a different charitable cause each month. This month's collection in support of the Peace and Justice Centre.

Amnesty International Concert for Burma

On Sunday 18th September, Edinburgh St Marks, a local Amnesty International group will be continuing their celebration of 50 years of Amnesty International with a concert at Canongate Kirk on the Royal Mile in support of its Burma campaign. Tickets are £10 (£7 concessions) and all proceeds from the concert will go jointly to Amnesty International and to the families of Burmese political prisoners.

Another favourite with local bands, Bannerman's is a laid-back pub tucked semi-underground on the Cowgate. Bonuses include cheap pool and good banter from a (broadly) rock and indie crowd, though the mirror toilets will make you regret that last flaming sambuca.
