We are writing on behalf of the Edinburgh Peace & Justice Centre to express our
appreciation and support on learning of the SNP proposal to call for the Trident nuclear submarine
weapons system to be removed from Scotland.
A firm request in answer to Liam Fox's statement on Trident replacement, following the
Local Yes to Fairer Votes supporters are holding a street stall in Edinburgh City Centre.
We will be meeting outside the Playhouse Theatre at 10am and will be handing out leaflets and speaking to shoppers about the YES campaign on Elm Row until 1pm. It will be a great opportunity to get the word out about the Yes campaign in the run up to the referendum, so I hope you can come along.
Street stalls like this are an excellent way to raise the campaign's profile and recruit local volunteers.
Saturday 1st May: MayDay march and rally : ECND is urging a large 'peace' delegation.
Election hustings. Augustine United, George IVth Bridge, 7pm to 9.30pm. EdinburghCND, together with other Edinburgh groups, will be quizzing candidates on their positions.
Saturday 24th April, 6.30pm: Election Meeting
Stop the War election meeting on Afghanistan , 7pm at the Annandale Street Mosque. All the Edinburgh North and Leith election candidates will be present – but since this will be the only hustings meeting specifically on Afghanistan we hope people will attend from across the city. The election candidates will be asked to make their position on the war in Afghanistan clear. Come along and put your questions on Afghanistan , war and peace, human rights and the economic cost of war.
